Because the happiest place on earth is even happier when everyone’s bellies are full, here is a list of our favorite family-friendly restaurants near Vista Cay Resort. Perfect for pitstop lunches, quick breakfasts and no-hassle dinners, all of these options are within just two miles of the Resort and Upendo Orlando Condo!
Restaurants Around the Corner (less than .5 mile)
You’ll find plenty of family-friendly restaurants just a few blocks from Vista Cay Resort. Take a family stroll (or quick drive) to these convenient eateries to fuel up for your day at the parks or wind down afterward.
A great place to get the day started, with a big menu full of breakfast hits like stuffed French toast, omelets and waffles. The chicken & waffle sliders are a fan favorite, but there are less-hearty options like avocado toast if you prefer a lighter start to your day. Bonus for caffeine lovers: they have espresso!
NY-style pizza close to home. Eat in, take out, or have it delivered to Vista Cay Resort. NYPD’s friendly staff gets rave reviews, as does their simple and tasty Margherita pizza.
This cheerful little place has fun, colorful mural and, as the name promises, gets you in and out quickly. Great for lunch. Older kids and teens will love the boba teas in near-endless flavor combinations, and they serve everything from bahn mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) and poke bowls to fried rice and tempura shrimp.
Another quick and budget-friendly option, Beth’s Burger Bar is located within the nearby Publix shopping center and has counter ordering (think Five Guys, but more options). Create your ideal burger, or try one of theirs, like The Peanut Butter Burger. Beth’s also has non-burger options like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chicken tender baskets.
We love the convenience of China Tea, which is also located in the Publix Supermarket just around the corner. It’s walkable, but you can also swing over in your car for eat-in or takeout—there’s plenty of parking. It’s budget-friendly, too, with options to please picky kids, like orange chicken and many noodle dishes.
Restaurants Less than Two Miles Away
Hop in the car for these these kid-and-parent-approved spots, which are still just a couple of miles from home—many on action-packed International Drive.
Ask for the kids menu at the counter; you won’t see it on the board when you order! Hopdoddy offers elevated options like Kobe burgers and truffle fries as well as classic burgers and the Impossible Burger. They have indulgent milkshakes, too; the S’Mores and Bananas Foster shakes are two customer favorites.
A newer option on International Drive with its own roomy parking lot, Mia’s Italian Kitchen has a lovely menu of from-scratch Italian goodies like pizza, pasta, and meatballs—good for a nice dinner. Gluten free? They have zucchini noodles, too. Plus, their all-you-can-eat brunch lets you order unlimited items from the menu for $26 a person.
A local Orlando chain, Marlow’s Tavern serves up a New American menu, with outdoor patio seating on I-Drive. Try the shrimp & grits, fried asparagus, and fish tacos. Great for those evenings when you want to keep the kids happy with simple fair, but also dig into something a bit more gourmet-inspired for yourself at reasonable prices.
