Is a downpayment/deposit required?

Yes. A reservation deposit for 50% of the total cost of your stay is due upon booking. By paying this deposit, you have entered into a contract with us. We will send a confirmation for your booking, as well as a document for you to sign. The balance payment is due within 60 days of your check-in date.

On what floor is the condo unit? Are stairs required?

We are on the 4th floor of the building, accessed via elevator. (On extremely rare occasions, the elevator may be down for repair or maintenance. This is entirely outside of our control and we cannot be held liable.) 

Is free parking included?

Yes. There is free, open parking that is first-come, first-served. Parking is usually not an issue, and there are no parking permits required.

What types of vehicles are allowed in the parking area? 

We can accommodate cars and SUVs only. Please note that trucks, commercial vehicles, campers, mobile homes, recreational vehicles, motor homes, jet skis (or other similar watercraft) boat and other watercraft trailers, house trailers, horse trailers, crocodile trailers (especially not those), trailers of every other description, or vans are not be permitted to be parked or stored anywhere on the property, or at Vista Cay resort.

How can I get around if I don't bring a car?

While most guests at Upendo Orlando and Vista Cay bring a car, there is public transportation within walking distance that goes to all of the parks. Google Maps can help you map your route. 

What type of guest is the condo best for?

We welcome everyone to Upendo Orlando, but those who love us most include families with kids of all ages, couples traveling together, snowbirds, and business travelers who appreciate our free, fast WiFi and dedicated desk in the den. 

Are you pet-friendly?

No. When we say “we welcome everyone” we do mean humans only. 

Where is the nearest grocery store?

There is a Publix Supermarket within walking distance where you can stock up on groceries and household supplies. Publix also offers a convenient online ordering option for pickup or delivery.

How far is the beach?

Cocoa Beach, an hour away, is the closest beach. From there, you can continue to drive along the coast for other scenic Florida beaches. Playalinda Beach, the southern beach of Canaveral National Seashore, is just over an hour away. Clearwater Beach, on the gulf side, is two hours away.

What is provided in the condo's kitchen?

Is there a swimming pool available to guests? 

Yes! Vista Cay has a resort-style pool and spa, as well as a kiddie pool for little guests. They are a real treat after a day at the parks (or days when you skip the parks altogether).

You’ll need your amenity pass, which will be hanging by the front door, for pool access. Please note that, like the elevators, we can’t control when the pool is out of commission for repair or maintenance.

How far is the clubhouse/pool from the condo itself?

What are the hours for the pool, clubhouse, and other amenities?

Pool: The pool at Vista Cay opens at 8.00 AM and closes at 11.00 PM. These hours  may change without notice, so be sure to visit the clubhouse when you arrive to get the exact hours for your stay. 

Pool Bar: The pool bar is open from 11.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. (hours vary based on weather and seasonality) and features a full bar and snacks such as pizza, sandwiches, hot dogs, and more. 

Gift Shop: The clubhouse gift shop serves coffee, sandwiches, and snacks starting at 7.30 am each morning.

Fitness Center: Open daily from 6.00 am until 11.00 pm. Guests only require their key cards for access.

Expedia Local Expert Concierge Desk: Open daily from 7.00 am to 3.00 pm.

Is there a shopping outlet nearby?

Yes! Pointe Orlando, an open air mall with shops, restaurants, and a movie theater, is less than a 10-minute drive away.

What other amenities are located at Vista Cay Resort?

Vista Cay features a clubhouse with fitness center, a two-mile walking path around the lake, a business center, a theater room, billiards tables, arcade games, basketball court, kids’ playground, and a shared BBQ area with picnic tables.

POST-BOOKING FAQs

When do I receive access details and address to the home?

You’ll receive all of your information from us at least one week before your scheduled arrival date. Stay tuned!

What do I do with my trash/recycling?

Trash is picked up 7 days a week by 11 a.m. Leave your recycling in a clear or blue bag in the waste bench just outside the condo. Use the black or white bags for trash. No oversized items, i.e. furniture, large boxes; no broken glass or sharp objects; no bag over 25 lbs; no loose trash.

Where can I find instructions to operate the condo's appliances?

Appliance manuals and instructions are located in the kitchen pantry.

Do I need to bring my own pool/ beach towels?

Not unless you have a favorite that you can’t leave home without! We provide all towels and linens, including beach towels. 

What is your cancellation policy?

If you have to cancel your trip, the following refund policies will apply:

  • From initial date of booking up to 14 days prior to the arrival date, we will refund 100% of the rental fee plus trip insurance premium where applicable minus Management and Administration fees.
  • 14 days or less prior to the arrival date, no refund.

We recommend that all guests take out adequate cancellation or vacation rental insurance. Please click here to obtain your travel insurance policy or certificate of insurance for your Covered Trip.

If you declined the opportunity to purchase the Travel Protection insurance during the booking process, you may still do so up to and including the date you make your final balance payment.

What happens to my reservation in the event of a hurricane or tropical storm?

No refunds will be given unless:

:: The state or local authorities order mandatory evacuations in a ‘Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning area’ and/or

:: A ‘mandatory evacuation order has been given for the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning’ area of residence of a vacationing guest.

The day that the authorities order a mandatory evacuation order in a ‘Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning,’ area, we will refund:

:: Any unused portion of rent from a guest currently registered

:: Any unused portion of rent from a guest that is scheduled to arrive, and wants to shorten the stay, to come in after the Hurricane Warning is lifted; and

:: Any advance rents collected or deposited for a reservation that is scheduled to arrive during the ‘Hurricane Warning’ period.

Can I bring more than 8 guests to Upendo Orlando?

No. We have beds to sleep 6 guests and sleeper sofa for 2 more. Anyone else would be sleeping on the floor, and you deserve better than that. 🙂
